Independent physicians’ representation — who we are

As of: 2026-07-27

Freie Ärzte Schweiz is an independent membership organisation of Swiss physicians. We represent medical concerns in tariff and care questions — open to all specialties, cantons and care settings.

Facts

Legal form and seat

The organisation is an association under Art. 60 ff. of the Swiss Civil Code, seated in Oensingen. All activity rests on the statutes; the general assembly is the supreme body. The president is Dr Lars Leidolt.

Formal recognition as an outpatient tariff partner does not currently exist. We communicate that status openly, because credibility matters more for a young organisation than a larger claim.

Our position

Independence and governance

We are independent of political parties and finance ourselves without ties to individual interest groups. Positions emerge from member discussion and are then represented publicly.

Grassroots democracy here means: members raise topics, workgroups prepare them, indicative surveys show opinion, and the general assembly takes binding decisions according to the statutes.

How we differ

Our difference lies in how we work, not in accusations against other organisations. We rely on short paths between members and positioning, on verifiable reasoning and on disclosed governance.

Anyone who wants to check how we work will find the statutes and transparency information publicly on this website. We welcome criticism — it is part of quality assurance.
